Dried Beef with Chili Dressing (Dendeng Balado)

Ingredients :

  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 750 g (1 1/2, Ibs) lean topside beef, thinly sliced along the grain
  • oil for deep-frying
  • Chili Dressing
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons oil
  • 4 shallots, sliced
  • 8 to 10 red chilies, coarsely chopped
  • 7 kaffir lime leaves
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
